Abstract:
The article studies the analytical instruments for managing the business activity of an enterprise in the context of modern challenges, in particular the military aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine. The emphasis is placed on the peculiarities of the functioning of the real sector of the economy in crisis conditions, characterized by the destruction of assets, shortage of skilled labor, rising prices for resources and interruptions in energy supply, which led to a decrease in the business activity index, falling to 41.0 in January 2024 compared to 45.7 in December 2023. The theoretical approaches to business activity management are considered through the prism of using modern analytical instruments. The main factors influencing the business activity of retail trade enterprises are analyzed, including turnover costs, turnover of goods, seasonal fluctuations and the structure of retail turnover. The theoretical basis of the study is supported by the analysis of modern conceptions of business activity management based on a system approach and integration of digital technologies. Particular attention is paid to monitoring the impact of external and internal factors and analyzing the seasonality of imports of products. Retail trade is defined as one of the most dynamic and stable areas of the Ukrainian economy, in which 37% of the total number of economic entities operates. The activities of key retail enterprises are characterized by financial indicators, including net income, profit and profitability. The expediency of using the index method, in particular seasonality indices, in order to measure the impact of seasonal fluctuations on the volume of imports of the largest commodity groups is confirmed. A system of indicators based on seasonality indices has been calculated: amplitude of fluctuations; mean linear and mean square deviation in order to measure the effect of seasonal variations. The results of the study can be useful for retail managers, analysts and management specialists to make strategic decisions in the face of uncertainty.
