Abstract:
The aim of the article is to study and analyze the current state of foreign economic activity of enterprises and determine the impact of the ongoing full-scale aggression on trade and economic relations between Ukraine and the countries of the European Union. Analysis, systematization and generalization of statistical data and the work of many scientists are carried out; the changes that have befallen the foreign economic structure of exports and imports of goods between Ukraine and the countries of the European Union are considered. The impact of military hostilities on the volume of production of goods and services is analyzed and described. An important component of Ukraine’s integration into the European Union is the economic component. With the countries of Eastern Europe, which are part of the European Union, our country shares common borders, history, habits, etc. It is borders that are an important component of trade activity and its complete reformatting during aggression by another State. Therefore, the countries of the European Union have now become the main trading partners of Ukraine. The article compares the volumes of imports and exports of goods and services in 2021, before the full-scale war, and the indicators of 2022 and 2023. A drop in exports of goods by 12.7% and an increase in imports by 12.2% are detected. The influence of military factors on foreign economic activity in the sectors of trade in goods and services is also studied. These factors have a direct and immediate impact on the economy of Ukraine, so they directly affect Ukrainian foreign economic activity. Such factors include: the geography of hostilities, migration of the population, the occupation of part of the territories, war crimes, namely, strikes on electricity generating capacities, and more. These factors have completely changed the structural component of Ukraine’s economic activity and its cooperation with the countries of the European Union. The conclusions of this study can be used in the future to analyze and develop strategies for the post-war development of economic activity aimed at the European integration of Ukraine.
