Abstract:
The aim of this research study is to analyze the economic behavior of Ukrainian firms under the crisis conditions of wartime through the integration of theoretical models of economic behavior and practical case studies. The article directs towards identifying the functions of sensing, seizing, and reconfiguring, which ensure the adaptability and flexibility of enterprises, as well as to understand the decision-making mechanisms in the complex conditions of an unstable market. Methodologically, the study is based on integrating the theoretical analysis of economic models of firm behavior, organizational conceptions, and microeconomic approaches with the practical case of LLC «PT». The methods used include analyzing financial and operational indicators, assessing the company’s strengths and weaknesses, and examining the market and competitive situation. Identifying the functions of sensing, seizing, and reconfiguring enables the evaluation of the enterprise’s dynamic capabilities. The study shows that a company’s successful adaptation to wartime conditions is ensured by its ability to promptly identify market opportunities and threats, actively leverage them through investments and procurement, and restructure internal resources and processes. Case analysis indicates that classical models (MR = MC) do not account for the full range of firm behavior in crisis conditions, whereas D. J. Teece’s dynamic capabilities conception provides a more effective analytical tool. The research findings are applicable for analyzing the operations of other Ukrainian companies under unstable conditions and can serve as a basis for further studies on firms’ adaptive strategies, business process optimization, and the development of enterprise dynamic capabilities. The article illustrates the practical application of dynamic capabilities theory. Identifying and implementing the functions of sensing, seizing, and reconfiguring enables companies to maintain resilience, enhance competitiveness, and respond effectively to market changes. The research contributes to increasing the stability of Ukrainian businesses, supporting employment, and developing innovative approaches to enterprise management under crisis conditions, which has a positive impact on the economy and society. The article represents a valuable contribution to contemporary economic science as it integrates classical and modern theories of firm behavior with a practical case, demonstrating the efficiency of dynamic capabilities in crisis situations. The study highlights the importance of adaptability and flexibility for the survival and growth of modern enterprises.
