Abstract:
The aim of this article is to examine the theoretical foundations and practical aspects of ensuring an enterprise’s sustainable development through the implementation of adaptive restructuring mechanisms. The article analyzes the current challenges that enterprises face in an unstable economic environment. The authors disclose the essence of the concept of «restructuring» in the context of corporate governance and describe the factors that affect an enterprise’s ability to adapt to changes. The study substantiates the relevance of applying adaptive restructuring mechanisms as a tool for the strategic renewal of an enterprise. A comparative analysis of traditional and adaptive restructuring models is conducted, identifying their advantages and limitations. An original definition of the concept of «adaptive enterprise restructuring» is proposed as a systemic process of transforming the organizational structure and business processes to achieve long-term stability and competitiveness. The article presents the results of an empirical study based on the analysis of the activities of Ukrainian enterprises undergoing restructuring. A conceptual model for sustainable enterprise development has been developed, integrating adaptive restructuring mechanisms with the principles of ESG (environmental, social, and corporate governance). The obtained results can be used by enterprise managers, consultants, and researchers to develop efficient growth strategies that address contemporary challenges and ensure sustainable business operations in the long term.
