Abstract:
In the current context of economic instability, increasing risks, and constant external turbulence, a key factor for the long-term efficiency of enterprises is their ability to adapt, recover, and pursue transformational development. In this context, the concept of «resilience» gains systemic importance – as the capacity of enterprises to maintain functionality, respond to external shocks, and initiate changes that foster growth. The aim of this study is to develop a methodological foundation for the comprehensive assessment of enterprise resilience based on a unified system for the quantitative measurement of enterprises’ adaptive resilience, enabling the integration of engineering-economic and innovation-adaptive approaches to evaluate an enterprise’s ability to recover, learn, and develop in crisis conditions. The research methodology is based on a combination of system analysis, formalization of indicators, and the development of mathematical models. Within the study, a classification of resilience assessment models was carried out, distinguishing general economic models (financial analysis, SWOT, scenario modeling) and specific models (indices, behavioral, system-dynamic), which allowed structuring the instrumentarium according to criteria of dynamism, intended purpose, and type of indicators. A two-component assessment conception is proposed: the first approach – engineering-economic – is based on measuring the stress intensity, completeness, and recovery rate of key business indicators; the second – innovation-adaptive – involves assessing institutional flexibility, organizational learning, and innovation activity using the AGI, ET, OFI, and OLI indices. The outcome is the creation of an integrated Adaptive Resilience (AR) index that combines both dimensions. Practical testing of the methodology using hypothetical examples made it possible to demonstrate its flexibility, analytical precision, and applicability in strategic enterprise management under conditions of constant uncertainty. The proposed approach provides a basis for implementing a resilience monitoring system, comparing enterprises according to their level of adaptability, and supporting anti-crisis decision-making. The practical value of the study lies in offering an efficient instrumentarium for the quantitative diagnosis of enterprises’ adaptive capacity and for strategic planning of their sustainable development in changing conditions.

Keywords: resilience, enterprise, assessment models, analysis methods, adaptability, engineering-economic approach, innovative-adaptive approach, resilience index, stability, strategic management, unstable economic environment.
