Abstract:
The aim of the article is to study modern types of consumption and their development in the context of global changes. Researching this issue will allow for the identification of contemporary types of consumption, and consequently, the behavior of economic agents in markets under the new conditions of global and national economies. The study includes certain aspects. First, consumption is a significant component of reproductive processes, in which all economic agents at all levels participate. Secondly, analyzing the prerequisites and factors for the emergence of new types of consumption in the context of global changes is important, as it characterizes markets, the behavior of economic agents, and determines the transformations of activities, social relations, modern trends, and prospects. Thirdly, all economic entities (both consumers and producers) have a significant interest in the issues of modern consumption and its new types. Initially, existing approaches to types of consumption are presented. Next, both global and national prerequisites and factors for the emergence of new types of consumption are analyzed, with factual arguments provided. In conclusion, new types of consumption are identified and proposed, namely: irrational consumption, online consumption (e-consumption, or electronic consumption), offline consumption, financially literate consumption, and financially illiterate consumption. A characterization of these types of consumption is provided.
