Abstract:
Construction is one of the fundamental sectors of the economy, the products of which lay the foundations for the development of the national economy. The development of construction can be a driving force for the recovery and development of other sectors of the national economy. To identify the vectors of construction development, it is necessary to have a clear understanding of its starting conditions, which include the results of periodic analysis of the state of the construction sector and its characteristics over a certain period of time. The article analyzes the share of the construction sector in Ukraine’s GDP over recent years and its dynamics. It shows that compared to the pre-war period, all indicators of the construction sector in Ukraine have significantly decreased, and even a certain revival of construction in Ukraine during 2023–2024 could not compensate for its decline in the first year of the war. The results of the analysis of the dynamics of construction over the past few years have provided the basis for a number of conclusions and the delineation of certain trends in the industry that have already begun to be objectively defined. Significant attention in the analysis of the state of construction in Ukraine has been devoted to its segments, meaning a structural analysis of the construction industry has been carried out. A major factor that has had a severely negative impact on the construction industry is the war waged against Ukraine by the russian federation. The article outlines the negative consequences of the war for construction enterprises in Ukraine. According to the analysis of the effects of military actions on domestic construction enterprises, specific features of the operations demonstrated by construction enterprises in Ukraine during 2022–2024 have been identified.
