Abstract: The article examines the structural and methodological aspects of business planning in the field of modern pig farming. Due to high profitability indicators, pig farming is investment-attractive; however, successful project implementation requires clear and detailed planning. It is found that, despite the significant contribution of Ukrainian scientists to the theory of business planning, the methodological specifics of developing plans for pig farming under martial law conditions remain insufficiently studied, which makes this research relevant. The aim of the work is to systematize the key sections of a business plan (executive summary, market analysis, financial and production plans) and to provide practical recommendations on how to complete them. Approaches to risk analysis (SWOT), technology selection (equipment, genetics), management organization, and financial substantiation of the project are considered. It is concluded that a detailed pre-investment analysis is crucial for the successful implementation of a project, as it helps minimize risks, increase its investment attractiveness, and ensure sustainable long-term development. The dependence of the business plan’s volume on the project’s scale was also examined, noting that large complexes require more comprehensive documentation. A detailed description of each section of the business plan is provided, highlighting its importance for attracting investments and efficient management. The following typical sections were proposed: executive summary; market analysis and competitive environment; analysis of piglet prices; industry investment attractiveness; project description; organizational plan and personnel management; production plan; production technology; engineering communications and infrastructure; raw material supply for the project; financial plan; project financing strategy. It is proposed to take into account the specifics of the industry, in particular the requirements for biosafety, sanitary protection zones, and technological solutions that are critical for the project’s viability. It is concluded that a well-prepared business plan is the basis for minimizing risks, enhancing investment attractiveness, and ensuring sustainable development of the enterprise.
Keywords: business plan, investments, investment strategy, pig farming, agribusiness, investment climate.
