Abstract: The rapid diffusion of digital technologies, the integration of artificial intelligence into managerial processes, and the growing dependence of high-tech enterprises on digital infrastructure are fundamentally reshaping traditional approaches to sustaining competitiveness. Despite these developments, contemporary research has not yet established a unified methodological framework for comprehensively assessing enterprise digital resilience as an integrated characteristic reflecting an organization’s ability to ensure the continuity of digital processes, adapt to internal and external threats, and sustain innovation-driven development. In particular, limited attention has been devoted to the formalization of digital resilience as a quantitative composite indicator suitable for strategic management applications in high-tech enterprises. The aim of this study is to develop an original methodological approach for assessing the digital resilience of high-tech enterprises based on the Digital Resilience Index (DRI) and to substantiate the role of digital resilience as a key determinant of enterprise competitiveness. The methodological framework combines systems analysis, structural-functional analysis, comparative and logical methods, index-based analysis, and methods of scientific synthesis and conceptual modeling. The study proposes an original definition of digital resilience for high-tech enterprises, develops a conceptual architecture of its formation, and introduces the Digital Resilience Index (DRI), which integrates indicators related to digital infrastructure, artificial intelligence adoption, cyber resilience, business continuity, R&D capability, and the adaptability of enterprise management systems. A methodological procedure for calculating the index and interpreting its values is also developed. The scientific novelty of the research lies in the development of an original methodology for assessing the digital resilience of high-tech enterprises and in the introduction of the Digital Resilience Index (DRI) as a new strategic management instrument for innovation-driven development. The practical significance of the proposed approach lies in its applicability to the comprehensive assessment of enterprise digital resilience, the identification of critical digital vulnerabilities, and the support of managerial decision-making aimed at strengthening enterprise competitiveness.
Keywords: digital resilience; Digital Resilience Index (DRI); high-tech enterprise; competitiveness; digital transformation; R&D capability; artificial intelligence.
