Abstract:
This article presents the results of assessing and analyzing the efficiency of investment climate realization in the regions – a topic that remains insufficiently explored in contemporary economic science. The study aims to refine and further develop existing approaches to assessing and analyzing the efficiency of utilizing the investment climate in specific regions of Western Ukraine, based on econometric modeling of the interrelationships between investment activity indicators and socioeconomic development indicators. To address the formulated objectives, the study employed methods including the analysis of scientific literature, statistical analysis, the normalization of economic indicators, correlation-regression analysis, tests for multicollinearity, the Granger causality test, and the construction of simultaneous econometric models. Quantitative analysis was conducted using a dataset compiled from statistical information on the socioeconomic development of the regions within the Carpathian area. Integral indicators of investment activity, investment attractiveness, and the efficiency of utilizing the investment climate have been calculated for the regions of the Carpathian area. Differences in the dynamics of these indicators across the studied regions were identified, and the specific features of how their investment opportunities are utilized were determined. Using the Granger test, the cause-and-effect relationships between the indicators of investment activity, investment potential, and investment attractiveness were substantiated. Simultaneous models reflecting the structure of interrelationships between aggregate indicators of the investment component and indicators of socioeconomic development have been constructed, and statistically significant factors shaping investment potential and investment attractiveness have been identified. The scientific novelty of the results lies in the refinement and further development of approaches to assessing and analyzing the investment component of the socioeconomic development of the region. The study develops and analyzes simultaneous models that enable an examination of the interrelationships between indicators of socioeconomic development in the Carpathian area’s regions and the composite indicators characterizing the investment component of their development. The practical value of the obtained results consists in the potential to use the proposed models to prioritize regional investment development, forecast changes in aggregate indicators, and formulate well-founded managerial decisions aimed at enhancing the efficiency of utilizing the investment climate and implementing regional investment policy.
