Abstract:
The rise of global challenges related to ensuring economic stability, social responsibility, and environmental safety necessitates a transformation of enterprise management approaches based on the principles of sustainable development. In the current environment, the competitiveness of business entities increasingly depends on their ability to integrate sustainability principles into their corporate governance systems, thereby ensuring a balanced combination of economic, social, and environmental goals. Developing a socially responsible management model based on a value system enhances the efficiency of managerial decisions, strengthens stakeholder trust, and creates long-term competitive advantages. The article aims to examine the role of sustainable development within the enterprise management system and to substantiate the theoretical and methodological foundations of sustainable management at the micro-level by clarifying its essence, core principles, and implementation specifics within modern corporate management. The article examines modern approaches to implementing sustainable development principles in corporate operations, analyzes the main forms of corporate social responsibility, and identifies their distinctive features. The article substantiates the role of a value system as the foundation for establishing an efficient sustainable management mechanism and highlights the critical importance of economic, socio-ecological, and moral-ethical guidelines in the managerial decision-making process. The article proposes an original interpretation of the essence of enterprise management based on sustainable development principles, identifies its key characteristics, and analyzes the specifics of integrating sustainability principles into the value chain formation process. Furthermore, the article substantiates the sequence of managerial decision-making aimed at ensuring the sustainable operation of enterprises and outlines the primary benefits organizations derive from implementing the sustainable development conception within their management systems. Given the growing importance of implementing the Sustainable Development Goals, the tightening of requirements for corporate social responsibility, and the need for Ukrainian enterprises to adapt to modern economic and European integration processes, further research into the theoretical and practical aspects of enterprise management based on sustainable development principles remains relevant and promising.
