Abstract:
The study addresses the methodological gap between assessing the external entrepreneurial ecosystem and diagnosing the internal managerial capacity of an individual startup. The aim of the article is to substantiate a methodological approach to forming and evaluating a startup management system and to develop a dynamic model of its functioning in a digital entrepreneurial ecosystem. The methodological basis combines system, structural-logical, comparative and index approaches with a critical analysis of current research on entrepreneurial ecosystems, digital entrepreneurship, startup management and ecosystem metrics. A diagnostic architecture of seven functional components is proposed: strategic, product and innovation, market, team, financial and investment, organizational and risk, and ecosystem management. Their operationalization includes 35 basic indicators, normalization procedures, partial indices I?–I? and the integrated management maturity index I_SUM. To assess the internal configuration, structural asymmetry A and balance B indicators are introduced, while the interpretation of results is adjusted to the startup’s development stage and industry context. A model of functioning of the system is developed that integrates internal management, ecosystem, digital, performance and adaptive contours. The scientific novelty lies in distinguishing potentially available ecosystem resources from resources actually mobilized by the startup, interpreting ecosystem management as the mechanism of such mobilization, introducing intermediate outcomes between managerial actions and final market and financial results, and combining integral diagnostics with structural asymmetry and stage-industry interpretation. The practical value of the approach is the possibility of using a unified diagnostic toolkit by founders, accelerators, investors and development institutions to identify managerial bottlenecks, set development priorities and assess readiness for the startup transition to the next stage. Empirical validation of weights, thresholds and predictive capacity of the model is identified as a direction for further research.

Keywords: startup; startup management system; digital entrepreneurial ecosystem; managerial diagnostics; structural asymmetry; stage differentiation; scaling.
