Abstract:
The study addresses the insufficient systematization of contemporary approaches to the financial support of enterprises’ foreign economic activity under conditions of global economic transformations, exchange rate instability, geopolitical risks, changing trade regimes, transformation of supply chains, and limited access to financial resources. The aim of the article is to identify the current features of financial support for enterprises’ foreign economic activity, assess the impact of global economic transformations, exchange rate, customs-tariff, and tax factors on the financial results of foreign economic operations, and substantiate directions for improving financial management under conditions of uncertainty. The study employs methods of analysis and generalization of scientific sources, system and comparative analysis, statistical analysis, logical generalization, structural-functional analysis, and scenario analysis to assess current trends and risks associated with the financial support of foreign economic activity. The main factors affecting the financial support of enterprises’ foreign economic activity are identified, including exchange rate fluctuations, changes in the cost of capital, geopolitical and trade risks, transformation of logistics and financial flows, and digitalization of international operations. The main sources and instruments of foreign economic activity financing are systematized, including own funds, bank lending, letters of credit, guarantees, factoring, trade finance, insurance, and currency hedging. The features of financial support for the foreign economic activity of Ukrainian enterprises and the impact of customs-tariff and tax regulation on costs, liquidity, cash flows, and financial results of foreign trade operations are analyzed. The role of government support of exports and digitalization of financial processes in strengthening enterprises’ financial resilience is identified. The main directions for improving financial support for foreign economic activity are substantiated based on financing diversification, exchange rate risk management, development of trade finance, improvement of the customs-tax environment, and scenario-based financial planning. The scientific novelty lies in the comprehensive substantiation of a transition to an adaptive model of financial support for foreign economic activity that considers the interaction of financial, exchange rate, trade, customs-tax, logistics, and geopolitical risks. It is determined that the combination of diversified sources of financing, trade finance, government export support, exchange rate risk management, and digital tools creates a basis for enhancing the financial resilience and adaptability of enterprises. The practical significance of the research results lies in their potential application by enterprises engaged in foreign economic activity when developing financial policies, planning export-import operations, selecting sources and instruments of financing, managing exchange rate risks, assessing customs-tax burdens, and developing financial development scenarios.
