Abstract:
The article examines the combined impact of agile management methodologies and digital tools on the efficiency of product-based IT teams, considering both operational and economic consequences. The research problem arises from the fact that Agile, Scrum, Kanban, digitalization, and team performance have been widely studied as separate topics, while the relationship between workflow quality, the level of automation, productive team capacity, and the labor cost of delivered results remains less systematized. The aim of the study is to identify the main channels through which agile approaches and digital tools influence the efficiency of product IT teams and to interpret this influence in economic terms. The study applies analysis and systematization of scientific literature, comparative analysis of agile approaches, generalization of digital tool practices, a structural-logical method, author-developed scenario modeling, and sensitivity analysis. The results indicate that team efficiency should be assessed as a combination of predictability, productivity, and quality. The most significant sources of losses include unstable business priorities, inaccurate scope estimation, excessive coordination, poorly organized development workflow, technical debt, and a high share of manual operations. A four-level scenario model of workflow digitalization is proposed, distinguishing fragmented, structured, integrated, and highly automated levels. Using a hypothetical product team, the model demonstrates that, with the monthly labor budget unchanged, an increase in the scenario index from 1.00 to 1.25 reduces the calculated labor cost of the same amount of work by 20%, while an increase to 1.40 reduces it by 28.6%. These coefficients are illustrative and are not interpreted as universal industry benchmarks. The economic effect of team efficiency is also manifested through Cost of Delay, additional rework, possible reductions in release scope, the opportunity cost of limited team capacity, and economically grounded backlog prioritization. The scientific novelty lies in linking operational and economic levels of analysis through the chain «workflow organization – productive capacity – labor cost – economic consequences for the product». The practical value of the proposed approach is the possibility of replacing scenario assumptions with actual team data and using the model to assess the economic feasibility of workflow digitalization and automation in a specific product IT team.

Keywords: IT projects; product IT teams; agile methodologies; digital tools; team efficiency; labor cost; economic efficiency; Cost of Delay.
