Abstract:
The article is devoted to a comprehensive study of the problems and prospects of investment management in conditions of economic instability, which is a characteristic feature of the current stage of development of the national and global economy. Economic instability is manifested in increasing inflationary processes, currency fluctuations, declining solvent demand, exacerbation of financial risks, as well as in the growing influence of geopolitical and socioeconomic factors. In such conditions, the investment activities of enterprises require a rethinking of traditional management approaches and the implementation of more flexible and adaptive mechanisms for making managerial decisions. The article substantiates the relevance of the problem of effective investment management as a key tool for ensuring the financial stability of enterprises and their long-term development. The essence of investment management under increased uncertainty is examined, highlighting its role in minimizing risks and optimizing the structure of the investment portfolio. Special attention is given to the impact of the external economic environment on investment processes, including changes in market conditions, financial market instability, limited investment resources, and difficulties in accessing financing. Modern approaches and methods for evaluating the efficiency of investment projects are analyzed, taking into account risk and uncertainty factors. Tools for managing investment risks are studied, including investment diversification, scenario analysis, stress testing, the use of flexible financial strategies, and adaptive planning. It is determined that under conditions of economic instability, a system approach to investment management becomes particularly important, combining the strategic vision of enterprise development with operational responsiveness to changes in the external environment. The article also examines the issues of making investment decisions under conditions of limited information and high risk. The authors emphasize the need to improve the quality of information support for investment activities, enhance analytical tools, and use modern digital technologies in the investment management process. The feasibility of integrating risk management into the overall enterprise management system as an important prerequisite for improving the efficiency of investment policy is substantiated. Based on the research results, the main directions for updating investment management in conditions of economic instability are proposed, in particular: the formation of a flexible investment strategy focused on long-term development; improvement of risk assessment and minimization mechanisms; optimization of the structure of funding sources; strengthening control over the implementation of investment projects; and adapting management decisions to the dynamic changes of the economic environment. The implementation of the proposed measures will help improve the efficiency of enterprises’ investment activities, ensure their competitiveness, and promote sustainable development in an unstable economic environment.
