Abstract:
Effective management of their natural resource potential is a relevant and priority area for the further socioeconomic development of regions. This potential is crucial for the wartime and post- wartime reconstruction of the regions of Ukraine, as it provides a basis for economic activity, the creation of material wealth, distributes productive forces, affects the quality of life of the population, and determines the competitive advantages of the territory. The aim of this study is to identify the impact of challenges and threats from the external environment on the natural resource potential of the regions of Ukraine in modern conditions. This goal allowed us to formulate the following tasks: to identify challenges and limitations in the formation of natural resource potential in wartime; to analyze the provision of the territories of European countries and regions with basic resources; to consider the mineral extraction potential of the regions of Ukraine; to analyze the structure of the natural resource potential of the Black Sea regions; to outline the ways of further development of the Black Sea regions. For the wartime and post-wartime reconstruction of Ukraine, identifying such a priority direction is necessary in terms of finding new models of economic development with the production of innovations and digital technologies, budget-forming revenue items, ensuring resource-intensive types of economic activity, increasing natural resources and their optimal use while maintaining environmental friendliness. In modern conditions of the ongoing military actions and post-wartime reconstruction of the country and its regions, the issue of resource security, increasing natural resource potential, and ecological security is clearly outlined. In some territories of Ukraine, a situation has developed in which the natural environment is unable to independently cleanse and regenerate itself.
