Abstract:
The article explores the essence and characteristics of bifurcation states in the development of enterprises under conditions of macroeconomic stabilization. It is substantiated that in the modern economic environment, enterprise development is characterized not only by gradual changes but also by periods of critical transformations, during which there arises a need to choose between alternative paths for further functioning. It is noted that a bifurcation state represents a critical point in the development of an enterprise as an economic system, where even minor changes in internal or external factors can significantly affect the enterprise’s performance and strategic prospects. The impact of internal and external factors on the formation of bifurcation states in enterprises is revealed. It has been shown that organizational transformations, financial difficulties, technological modernization, innovative activities, as well as changes in market conditions, legislation, the competitive environment, and the macroeconomic situation play an important role in the emergence of the considered states. Special attention has been given to studying the impact of macroeconomic stabilization processes on enterprise development. It has been found that stabilizing inflation, the exchange rate, and public finances not only reduces the level of economic uncertainty but also creates new business conditions, which can become sources of new bifurcation points. Separately, the technological dimension of bifurcation processes has been substantiated: the emergence and convergence of technologies are considered triggers of nonlinear changes capable of transforming business models, competencies, and the value creation structure. It has been proposed to view intellectual-innovative management as a managerial framework for navigating technological bifurcation, which involves spotting weak signals, creating and transferring knowledge, selecting innovative alternatives, experimenting, and reconfiguring resources. Based on a summary of international experience, examples of companies going through bifurcation states were analyzed, and the specifics of how Ukrainian companies – Metinvest Group, Interpipe Ukrainian Industrial Company, Kernel LLC, and MHP PJSC – adapt to wartime and economic transformations were examined. It was found that successfully navigating bifurcation states is achieved through business diversification, modernization of logistics systems, investment activity, developing international cooperation, and implementing adaptive managerial decisions. It is substantiated that bifurcation states can act not only as sources of risks but also as conditions for structural renewal, enhancing competitiveness, and long-term development of enterprises under macroeconomic stabilization.

Keywords: bifurcation state; enterprise development; adaptation; resilience; competitiveness; economic environment; intellectual-innovation management; technology emergence; technological transformation; strategic renewal.
