Abstract:
The need to use the potential of waste for the production of biofuels in order to ensure reliable power supply to enterprises in modern turbulent conditions of military attacks on the energy sector and other problems associated with the full-scale armed invasion of the russian federation is substantiated. The article is aimed at developing recommendations for using the potential of agricultural waste for the production of biofuels to reliably meet the needs of enterprises in energy resources. The problems in the field of energy supply in Ukraine in the current conditions are studied, in particular, the rapid increase in prices for fuel and energy resources since 2022. A step-by-step process of sustainable energy supply to enterprises has been developed, where the use of alternative energy sources, including biofuels, plays an important role. It is determined that enterprises of different types of activity differ in bioenergy potential; enterprises in the agro-industrial complex have the utmost potential for the production of various types of biofuels from their own raw materials (energy crops and waste). Agricultural waste has significant potential for processing into solid biofuels and biogas. Due to wider opportunities in the energy use of end products, anaerobic technology for waste processing with biogas production has been identified as optimal. The analysis of plant and animal waste for biogas production showed that the raw material base is quite wide, and the energy potential is significant. The analysis of European experience in biogas production shows that production volumes are growing, there is a tendency to increase the production of biomethane, or purified biogas. Recommendations have been developed for the use of the energy potential of agricultural waste to increase the sustainability of energy supply of enterprises, which includes: assessment of the energy potential of enterprise waste, introduction of biogas technologies, use of biomass as fuel, integration of renewable energy sources, participation in government programs and grants, development and implementation of an energy efficiency strategy.
