Abstract:
The article examines the theoretical approaches to the interpretation of enterprise economic security and substantiates the specifics of its formation in the construction industry under conditions of an unstable environment, military threats, and the postwar transformation of Ukraine’s economy. Scientific definitions of the concept of «enterprise economic security» are systematized, and the dominant emphases of resource-based, protective, strategic, and institutional approaches are generalized, which made it possible to clarify the content of the category of «economic security of construction enterprise», taking into account capital intensity, long production and investment cycles, dependence on the regulatory environment, investment flows, and customer solvency. The role of the institutional environment in ensuring the stability of construction enterprises is revealed, and the necessity of shifting from local protective measures to the formation of institutional-strategic mechanisms of economic security is substantiated, aimed at aligning strategic goals, resource potential, and external environment requirements. Authorial interpretations of the key categories «institutions», «strategy», «mechanism», and «construction enterprises» in the context of economic security are developed, as well as a comprehensive definition of the institutional-strategic mechanism of economic security of construction enterprises as an integrated set of institutions, strategic guidelines, principles, methods, instruments, and organizational-economic levers focused on protecting resource, production, financial-investment, and institutional potential, neutralizing internal and external threats, enhancing operational stability and adaptability to environmental changes, and creating conditions for the long-term development of construction enterprises during the recovery period. A structural characterization of the category of «construction enterprises» within the economic security system is presented, and a conceptual framework of the research is formed, reflecting the interrelations of the basic categories and providing a theoretical basis for the further development of applied tools for managing the economic security of construction enterprises.
