Abstract: This article examines the transformation of approaches to forming global competitiveness in the digital age, which is accompanied by profound technological shifts, the digitalization of economic processes, and the growing role of digital technologies in value creation. Digital transformation is considered a strategic tool for the innovative development of countries, enabling not only the enhancement of economic efficiency but also ensuring adaptation to the dynamic, highly competitive environment of the global market. The essence of digital competitiveness is substantiated as the ability of a country to effectively integrate digital technologies into all spheres of social and economic life, ensuring sustainable economic growth, productivity, innovation, and inclusive development. An analysis of the main digital technologies that define modern competitive advantages has been conducted, including artificial intelligence, big data, the Internet of Things, and cloud computing. It is determined that these technologies are catalysts for new business models, the formation of digital platforms, and the reshaping of global value chains. Special attention is given to the key elements of digital competitiveness, such as the development of digital infrastructure, the availability of human capital with high levels of digital skills, as well as effective State digital policy. A comparative analysis of digital development in several European countries (Finland, Sweden, the Netherlands, Germany) and Ukraine from 2018 to 2024 has been carried out, determining the dynamics of digital competitiveness and outlining prospects for 2025–2026. Based on the conducted research, practical recommendations have been formulated regarding the strategic development of the State’s digital capabilities, which can contribute to enhancing its competitive positions in global markets. In particular, it is suggested to strengthen the digital infrastructure, invest in digital education, and establish an effective institutional framework for the development of the digital economy. The author emphasizes the importance of intersectoral interaction, public-private partnerships, and a sustainable approach to digital reforms as the foundation for long-term improvement of global competitiveness.
Keywords: digital transformation, global competitiveness, innovations, digital technologies, development strategy.
