The Potential for the Migration Attractiveness of Ukrainian Cities in the Context of the Territorial Economic Concentration (p. 38 - 44)

The article is aimed at determining the actual nature of migration of the population of Ukraine and its potential directions and formulating on this basis proposals for adapting Ukrainian cities to changes in the social-economic environment. The overall level of urbanization of Ukraine and its regions has been defined in comparison with the high-income countries. The migration gain in the cities and regions of Ukraine for 2016 has been analyzed. Using the model of migration attractiveness, the cities – potential migration centers in Ukraine and Poland have been determined. Data on the actual migratory growth and potential migration directions in Poland and Ukraine have been compared. Priority activities for adaptation of Ukrainian cities to the tendencies of migratory movements of population have been proposed.
