Prospects for Development of Stock Breeding in the Agrarian Formations of Zhytomyr Region (p. 178 - 183)
In this article, the author researched the state of development of livestock sector in Zhytomyr region, the reasons for curbing its development have been identified, attempts towards search for ways to improve have been made. Using the statistical method, a survey of indicators of industry sector functioning has been formed, and, by means of the trend projecting method, the projected trends to increase the cattle livestock in general, and cows in particular, as well as live weight and milk production in the agricultural enterprises of Zhytomyr region have been displayed. Developing the livestock sector means to ensure further growth of agricultural production, improve its efficiency to meet the needs of the world's population in food and industrial raw materials. Dairy and beef breeding occupies a leading place among the livestock industry sectors. This results not only from the number of livestock in the world, but also a high proportion of milk and beef in the structure of livestock products.
